Lake Macquarie is set to come alive this weekend as the Australian Offshore Superboat Championships return to our waters on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026!

Get ready for an incredible display of speed, horsepower and adrenaline as some of Australia’s most powerful offshore racing boats take to Lake Macquarie for the opening round of the 2026/27 Offshore Superboat Championship season.

With six races scheduled across the weekend, spectators can expect plenty of high speed action as competitors battle it out on one of Australia’s most spectacular waterways.

The Action Starts at Empire Marina, Marmong Point

This year’s racing headquarters will be based at Empire Marina in Marmong Point, home to one of Buyaboat’s offices!

The marina will be a hive of activity throughout the weekend, with racing teams, crews and their impressive offshore powerboats gathering ahead of each race.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for boating enthusiasts and families to get up close to these incredible machines, meet the teams and experience the excitement of professional powerboat racing firsthand.

For the Buyaboat team, having such a major boating event right on our doorstep is something we’re particularly excited about!

Where to Watch the Superboats

One of the best things about the Offshore Superboat Championships is that you don’t need to be on the water to enjoy the racing!

With the course running through the northern section of Lake Macquarie, spectators can find excellent viewing opportunities from several locations around the foreshore.

Marmong Point, Warners Bay, Speers Point and Eleebana all provide opportunities to experience the racing, with the sound of high performance engines echoing across the lake.

The event also forms part of Lake Mac Action Fest, bringing additional entertainment, activities and excitement to the region throughout the weekend.
