'Salubrious' is a professionally built 10-meter coastal motor-sailer designed by Explorer Boats, Norm Silva. In Australia they are known for their buoyant bows, shallow draft, lightweight displacement and spacious full-standing interiors. She was launched in September 2017 at Oyster Cove and has to-date only been used as a motor cruiser.
She has been well maintained and presents in fantastic condition, and has been fitted out with high quality equipment/appliances throughout. The slightly bigger 12m model has been used successfully commercially for charters in the Whitsunday Islands for many years.
'Salubrious' is an extremely comfortable boat that can sleep 6, having two full double beds with inner spring mattress, a full kitchen, shower, marine toilet with hot water system and plenty of storage lockers. She will cruise at 6.5 knots and maximum speed is around 9 knots. With a draft of only 0.8 meters you can adventure to places not accessible by most boats this size. Supporting this the solar system is sized to allow complete self-sufficiency so you can go away for weeks without needing back up power.
Rigging and sails plans have already been drawn up and recently quoted. These can be provided upon request.
There are many additional safety features to this boat that are not found on many other boats. Some of these features include:
o It is a full bridge deck so you don't sleep or live below water line.
o Each hull has 5 separate water tight compartments (if it does get holed, the water will be isolated to 1/10 of hull buoyancy)
o Full 316 stainless steel handrails all round the boat (less chance of children or family slipping overboard)
o The two 20hp Honda outboard motors are separate systems. The boat can operate on one.
o The rudder steering can be operated via a helm wheel or a tiller system. If one fails the other is a back up.
o Gas to cabin cooker has three separate isolations and a gas fume detector.
The construction of the boat was completed professionally.
o The Shell of the boat was built by; The Bay boat shed, later known as JAG marine at Salamander Bay.
o Jeff Schionning from Schionning catamarans designed and built the Helm station
The prime companies involved in the support and fit-out of boat were;
o Cara-boats constructions
o Greg Pont Marine
o Marine Electrics
o The boat is painted by Sydney based experienced boat painters using the high quality AWL grip 1000 and AWL craft 2000 painting products.
Overall, this is a fantastic opportunity to get into the Catamaran market on a well built, safe and seaworthy vessel.
